Revellers reminded to collect wristbands ahead of Tall Ships headline concerts

The seven day countdown has begun for the largest international festival in Shetland in over a decade, with more than 2,000 crew expected to sail into Lerwick on 56 vessels this Thursday for The Tall Ships Races.

LevellersHighlights for the event include over 100 local music performances, family fun zones, a spectacular fireworks display, an international crew parade and Welcoming Ceremony as well as the much anticipated headline concerts from The Levellers and Bjorn Again.

All ticket holders for The Levellers concert on Friday 22nd July and Bjorn Again concert on Saturday 23rd July are reminded that concert wristbands will be available for collection from the Event Information Point at Victoria Pier on Tuesday 19th July through Thursday 21st July from 10am to 7pm, and from the Event Information Point at Holmsgarth on Friday 22nd July and Saturday 23rd July from 10am.

Tickets must be presented with valid proof of age and once issued, wristbands cannot be replaced if lost.  Wristbands must be worn for entry to the two concerts at Holmsgarth and gates for the event open at 6.30pm on both evenings for wristband holders only.

Organisers of The Tall Ships Races 2011 - Lerwick have confirmed that a total of 56 ships from 12 countries will sail into Shetland during the event which takes place from 21st – 24th July 2011.

Event information points will be located at Albert Wharf and Holmsgarth throughout the duration of the event and a free shuttle bus will operate between The Esplanade and Holmsgarth.
