    Shetlanders Urged to Open Doors for Tall Ships

    VisitShetland is calling on locals to open their homes to sailing enthusiasts next summer as The Tall Ships Races arrive in Lerwick in July 2011. Renowned for its international following and with just 10 months to go, the race is expected to attract a number of additional visitors to the islands which will create a need for additional accommodation.

    Racing to Work

    33 Scottish Trainees are already counting down to The Tall Ships Races 2011

    The Tall Ships Races 2011, presented by Szczecin, organised by Sail Training International, is exactly one year away from arriving in Lerwick and, already, 33 trainees from the participating Cruise in Company ports, between Greenock and Lerwick, have signed up to take part.

Peterson SBS becomes first Host Port Sponsor of The Tall Ships Races 2011

Peterson SBS has become the first Host Port Sponsor with £12,000 cash sponsorship towards delivering The Tall Ships Races in July 2011.

Peterson SBSThis support is a vital part of the £400,000 sponsorship target set by the local organising company to deliver a high quality event next year. The Tall Ships Races are presented by Szczecin and organised by Sail Training International.

Ann Hunter of Peterson SBS, said, "We are excited about becoming a Host Port Sponsor and look forward to an excellent event next year. We are glad to support such a huge community project and wish organisers the best in their preparations over the next year."

Fiona Dally, the Project Manager for The Tall Ships Races- Lerwick said, "We would like to thank Peterson SBS for becoming a Host Port Sponsor. We are very grateful for this significant sponsorship and look forward to delivering a quality Host Port for The Tall Ships Races, 21st-24th July 2011."
