Paul Gaffney
Lerwick, Shetland
Aged 21 years old
Paul has always loved travelling by sea and would like to take this opportunity to experience life on board a Tall Ship as a member of the crew, working closely with his team mates to embrace all of the challenges encountered along the way, as well as representing Shetland. Despite his love of the sea, Paul has never learned to sail and sees this as the perfect chance to have a taster of life by the sail.
Paul has studied environmental science and would like to take his experiences as part of the Races to influence his future career, looking at a move into marine science as his next step.
